Job summary

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Program Manager for a nonprofit dedicated to improving equitable access to cancer support, education, and care. Based in Berkeley, CA, this full-time, on-site role leads program development, outreach, and supervision of staff and volunteers.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years in community health or social services, a Bachelor's degree, and a commitment to health equity, cultural humility, and strong community partnerships across Black

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, social work, nonprofit management, or related field; equivalent education and lived experience considered.
  • At least 3 years of experience in community outreach, program management, social services, or related areas.
  • Experience working with Black and African American communities and knowledge of health equity and barriers to care.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and oversee culturally responsive programs serving Black and African American women and nonbinary individuals impacted by cancer.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, healthcare providers, faith-based groups, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
  • Lead community outreach, education, presentations, and events to increase awareness of available programs and services.
  • Supervise and support patient navigation staff and volunteers in a compassionate, trauma-informed environment.
  • Incorporate community feedback and best practices into program development while identifying opportunities to reduce barriers to care.
  • Track program participation and outcomes, support grant-related data collection and reporting, and collaborate across teams on organizational goals.
