Job summary

Imogen Foundation in New York, NY seeks a Program Director for SONYC middle school programs to lead on-site afterschool activities in a NYC public school facility. You will oversee operations, staff, and relationships with administrators, families, and community partners to ensure safety and program quality.

You will develop engaging, choice-based activities that build social-emotional learning, leadership, and academic support while aligning with school priorities and district policies.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience working with children or adolescents in educational settings.
• One year in an administrative, management or leadership role.
• BA/BS diploma in education or related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational, time management and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Knowledge of budgets and expense management.
• Experience with middle school programming preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage a diverse program staff.
• Oversee onsite operations of the afterschool program.
• Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
• Promote program within school community to increase enrollment.
• Align afterschool programming with student needs and school priorities.
• Communicate with families, school administrators and IF leadership.
• Ensure safety and compliance with DYCD, DOE, SACC and IF policies.
• Provide professional development opportunities for staff.
• Perform quality assessment and drive continual improvement.
• Develop innovative programming responsive to participants' needs.
