Job summary

Southern Illinois University Carbondale seeks a Financial Aid Administrator to oversee third party contracts, private grants and scholarships within the Financial Aid Office. You will counsel students, coordinate with campus offices, and manage Banner-based financial aid records and refunds.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required for the role.
• Minimum two years of professional experience in a higher education setting, including one year in student personnel management or related areas.
• Master's degree can substitute for one year of experience per policy.

Responsibilities

• Administer third party contracts (international sponsors, College Illinois, government and others) including contract setup, bill authorizations, and account credits.
• Manage and supervise Private Grant and Scholarship Programs in the Financial Aid Office; record in Banner and reconcile with donors.
• Counsel students and families; assist Accounts Receivable with questions about charges, billing and refunds related to grants and scholarships.
• Coordinate with Athletics for NCAA compliance of athletic scholarships.
• Assist Information Management Services in designing Banner reports for Private Grants and Scholarships.
• Process private grants related to departmental programs; set up fund codes and monitor awards.
• Determine transcript release eligibility and assist with housing issues related to scholarships and contracts.
• Post and track scholarships including tuition waivers and international student scholarships; engage with external stakeholders.
