Job summary

The University of Illinois Springfield is seeking a Financial Aid Coordinator to advise undergraduate students and participate in the processing of Federal, State and Institutional financial aid programs. The coordinator provides exceptional customer service and counseling to applicants and families via phone, email, in person and virtual visits.

The role involves advising on aid packages, administering athletic aid, managing documentation, updating the website, and supporting events such as

Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal, state, institutional, and private financial aid regulations as they apply to packaging and disbursement of financial aid, refunds and SAP.
• Knowledge of the student application process.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office – Outlook, Excel, and Word and other computer programs.

Responsibilities

• Advises undergraduate students regarding financial aid programs and eligibility.
• Performs data-entry and tracks financial aid awards in the Banner System.
• Administers athletic aid including awarding, tracking and processing renewals and cancellations.
