Southern Illinois University at Carbondale is seeking a capable administrator to oversee third party contracts and the financial aid scholarship programs within the Financial Aid Office.

The role includes counseling students and donors, coordinating with Accounts Receivable on billing and refunds, and ensuring NCAA compliance for athletic scholarships while developing Banner reports for grants and scholarships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any field.
• Two (2) years (24 months) of professional experience working at a higher education institution or in a role serving higher education institutions; one of those years in student personnel management, higher education management, public relations, business, or closely related.
• Master's Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.

Responsibilities

• Administers third party contracts, including setup, authorizations to bill, validity checks, dates, and accounting of charges; monitors co-pay logic across contracts (international embassies, College Illinois, DORS, etc.).
• Manages and supervises Private Grant and Scholarship Programs, records in Banner Financial Aid System, reconciles accounts, and processes refunds to donors.
• Counsels students, parents, SIU staff and donors regarding private grants and scholarships; assists Accounts Receivable with questions about charges, billing, refunds; coordinates with AR to remove service charges for eligible students.
• Coordinates with the Intercollegiate Athletics Office to ensure NCAA-compliant athletic scholarships.
• Assists Information Management Services in designing and developing Banner reports for Private Grants and Scholarships.
• Performs functions for private grants linked to SIU departmental grants, including setting up fund codes and monitoring awards.
• Determines eligibility for transcript release or registration holds and assists students with housing issues related to scholarships and contracts.
• Supports posting of University-related scholarships (tuition waivers, International Student scholarships, etc.).
• Liaises with departments to respond to inquiries about SIUC programs, policies, and services; maintains Banner update and query access.
