Job summary

The University of Houston System is seeking a program coordinator for the Optometry Clinic. The role involves coordinating activities to meet objectives, planning methods for implementation, reviewing records, and preparing management reports.

Department: Optometry Clinic Salary: 18.32 - 20.60

Description
  • 1. Coordinates program to ensure that implementation and prescribed activities are carried out in accordance with specifiedobjectives.
  • 2. Participates in planning and develops methods for programimplementation and administration, coordinates program activitiesand processes.
  • 3. Reviews program records and reports of activities.
  • 4. Recommends modifications to methods or procedures asrequired.
  • 5. Prepares recurring and ad hoc program reports for managementuse.
  • 6. Assists in preparing reports, proposals, manuals, and otherdocumentation as required for the program.
  • 7. Participates in budget planning and is responsible for controlling expenditures in accordance with budget allocations forthe program.
  • 8. Conducts formal training or gives instruction regarding programpolicies and procedures.
  • 9. Interacts with faculty, staff and students to promote the goalsand objectives of the program.
  • 10. Develops and maintains database on research studies, policyissues, etc.
  • 11. Performs other job-related duties as required.
Additional Posting Information
  • Insurance and Patient Accounts Receivables: Experience inhandling insurance claims, billing, and managing patientaccounts.
  • Managing 2-5 employees: Leadership skills to effectively manage a small team.
  • High-volume medical practice: Ability to work efficiently in abusy medical environment.

Education will be considered in lieu of experience.

MQ: Education: Requires the ability and knowledge for analysis andinterpretation of procedures, policies and practices attainablethrough specific education and/or training programs in a specialtyor technical field. Advanced vocational or electronic skills or abasic knowledge of a professional field is required. An Associate'sdegree or certification/licensing in a technical specialty programof over 18 months and up to 3 years duration are characteristic ofthis field. Experience: Requires a minimum of one (1) year ofdirectly job-related experience.
