Description:

  1. Manages the day-to-day operations of a large university programor department, including the supervision of staff employees,student workers, programs or processes.
  2. Plans and develops procedures for administering a large orcomplex department or program.
  3. Manages fiscal activities, including procurement and budgetanalysis.
  4. Provides guidance to subordinate staff and evaluatesperformance.
  5. Prepares abstracts, research reports, funding proposals,operations and procedure manuals, and other written material anddocumentation.
  6. Creates and reviews reports of expenditures andactivities.
  7. May administer grants and grant-related related communications,scholarships and other operations.
  8. Develops, implements and maintains appropriate policies andprocedures.
  9. May serve as property custodian for the department.
  10. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Additional Posting Information:

  • Process and manage contract agreements and associated invoicepayments, ensuring compliance with institutional policies andcontractual requirements.
  • Process Procurement Card (P-Card) purchases and maintain accuratedocumentation and reconciliation records.
  • Coordinate and process gift card purchases for both human subjectsand non-human subjects research studies in accordance withapplicable regulations and procedures.
  • Verify and review monthly financial reconciliations for facultygrant cost centers to ensure accuracy and compliance withuniversity financial guidelines.
  • Oversee budgets, procurement activities, and financialanalysis.
  • Use Pivot database to identify funding opportunities forfaculty.
  • Review faculty grant applications for readability.
  • Serve as backup for pre-award research administrator, includingreviewing funders' requests for applications to ensure eligibilityand understand requirements, developing grant budgets, compilingall components of grant applications, submitting grants on behalfof the University, and ensuring adherence to applicable internaland federal regulations.
  • Prepare research reports, abstracts, funding proposals,operational documents, and other written materials.
  • Administer grants and grant-related communications whenapplicable.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures thatsupport program goals and compliance requirements.

Education will be considered in lieu ofexperience.

MQ: Education: Requires a thorough understanding of boththeoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical orprofessional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than oneprofessional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normallyobtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree froma college or university or an equivalent in-depth specializedtraining program that is directly related to the type of work beingperformed. Experience: Requires a minimum of one (1) year ofdirectly job-related experience. Certification/Licensing: None.
