Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Manufacturing Operator to perform manual and machine operation of production equipment in a fast-paced facility. You will load, mix, weigh, label, and package products, while ensuring adherence to safety, GMP, and SOP guidelines.

Responsibilities include monitoring machines, performing changeovers, inspecting output, and maintaining detailed records. Candidates should be detail-oriented with basic math skills and the ability to work 8+ hour shifts on site in Milford, CT.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience in production/manufacturing environments helpful.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedures written in English.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

  • Move around machines to monitor mechanisms, perform adjustments, setup and changeovers.
  • Inspect products, weigh raw materials and final products, and ensure labeling accuracy.
  • Maintain cleanliness and meet quality and safety standards; assist training of new employees.

Job description

  • Perform manual and machine operation of production equipment
  • Open, close, mix, fill, load, insert parts, cap products, tighten lids, seal bags, and perform related manufacturing tasks
  • Move around machines to monitor mechanisms and perform adjustments, minor repairs, setup, and changeovers
  • Operate equipment or package products while visually inspecting products and processes
  • Inspect products, fill cartons, bags, or containers, apply labels, stamp product identification numbers and expiration dates, make boxes, and place products into final packaging
  • Produce error-free paperwork and check the paperwork of others
  • Use scales to weigh raw materials and final products
  • Use statistical process control and automated software and hardware to monitor quality
  • Follow written formulation procedures, standard operating procedures, good manufacturing practices, and safety and quality procedures
  • Operate hand jacks, powered jacks, and other material handling equipment
  • Report production units, job numbers, and labor hours
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area
  • Meet or exceed departmental quantity and quality standards
  • Provide basic training for new or contingent employees
  • Ensure compliance with QA, GMP, SOP, FDA, 5S, and labor standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Graduate Equivalency Diploma (GED) preferred
  • 6 months of production experience preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals written in English
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, metric measurement, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to written, oral, or diagram instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Very detail oriented
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment such as hand jacks and powered jacks
  • Ability to stand at a workstation for extended periods of 8 hours or more
  • Ability to meet quantity and quality standards
  • Ability to read scales to weigh raw materials and final products
  • Ability to read and follow safety, quality, formulation, SOP, GMP, PPE, FDA, 5S, and labor standards/procedures
