Description

SUMMARY: The Production & Warehouse Coordinator – Manufacturing is responsible for performing routine receiving, picking, packing, and shipping functions in accordance with established work processes. This position plays an integral role in the manufacturing of linear motion systems, including ball rail and aluminum rail. The coordinator ensures that all operations are conducted efficiently and accurately, contributing to the overall success of the manufacturing process. This role reports to Production & Warehouse Supervisor -Wilmington, MA.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary duties.

Mechanical Integration (75% of Responsibility):

  • Cut, profile, and package linear rail.
  • Receiving of rail into inventory via lot control.
  • Cycle counts for lot control.
  • Communicate job status and address order issues.
  • Provide input to the design team, when requested, regarding final assembly and recommendations for future units.
  • Ensure assemblies are built to the specified requirements.
  • Maintain workshop machinery/tools are clean and in good working order.
  • Manage time Effectively to maintain the ball rail schedule.
  • Ensure the workshop is clean and presentable to customers.
  • Possess your own tools to accomplish builds.
  • Follow quality standards, comply with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization.

Warehouse (25% of Responsibility):

  • Verify incoming shipments, lift and stack cases of merchandise, expedite shipments from receiving area, and stock merchandise in designated area.
  • Locate, verify, lift, select, count, and insert merchandise into containers for shipment.
  • Operate equipment such as an RF Scanner.
  • Expedite outgoing shipments to designated shipping area.
  • Operate forklift.
  • Other duties may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, skills and/or abilities required. An individual must meet the minimum requirements as listed in each Qualifications subsection.

Requirements

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Technical or vocational is a plus.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 – 4 years’ experience operating a drill press, mill, and a 20” wet saw to cut steel and aluminum rail.
  • Proficient in reading engineered drawings, schematics, and bill of materials.
  • Experience in an AS9100 and ISO9001 environment with exposure to industrial/manufacturing engineering principles and methods preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the receiving, stocking, order pulling, and shipping functions of a distribution warehouse.
  • Experience with electronic manifesting systems. UPS Worldship, FedEx, etc.
  • Experience shipping on LTL freight carriers: packaging requirements, manifesting, scheduling pick-ups, damage reporting.
  • Forklift certification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with WIFI or RF data collection devices preferred

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude, familiarity with hand tools and hardware.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work in a prototype environment.
  • Proficiency in basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and problem-solving).
  • Effective written communication skills.
  • Organizational skills; detail-oriented and able to multi-task.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to follow released work and test instructions.
  • Able to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Precise attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products (Outlook, Excel, Teams).
  • Mechanical aptitude; able to utilize a torque wrench, machinist rule, and a tape measure (imperial and metric).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The work is active and fast paced, requiring frequent reaching, stooping, bending or kneeling. On occasion, the work may require climbing a ladder or scaffolding. The employee will stand and/or walk for long periods of time on the cement floor. On occasion, must be able to lift from pallet height and carry items up to 50 pounds unassisted. Must be able to use company-issued computer and communications equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The employee is regularly exposed to a general warehouse environment. Noise, dust, and temperature and humidity fluctuations may all be present. The environment involves machinery with moving parts, forklift traffic, and exposure to steps, slippery and uneven surfaces. Work after normal business hours and on weekends may be required.
