Job summary

Our client, a leading automotive powertrain manufacturer, is seeking a Production Supervisor (Production Unit Leader) to join their team in Trenton, MI. You will lead a team of about 80 employees in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment and partner with plant leadership to meet production, quality and safety goals.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent problem-solving, and a continuous improvement mindset.

Qualifications

Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment required.
Strong ability to lead teams, coach employees, and drive accountability.
Experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment highly preferred.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; willingness to work 2nd shift (3:00 PM - 12:30 AM) and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and develop a team of approximately 80 employees in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.
Ensure production schedules, quality standards, safety requirements, and cost objectives are consistently achieved.
Manage staffing, attendance, manpower allocation, and employee development to support operational goals.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, lean manufacturing activities, and waste reduction projects focused on safety, quality, cost, and throughput.
Partner with plant leadership and union employees to resolve issues, improve performance, and maintain a positive work environment.
