Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. is seeking a Production Technician in San Diego, CA. You will conduct manufacturing verification, engineering validation, and functional tests on production units, troubleshooting both digital and analog circuitry to the component level and repairing as needed.

The role operates on 1st shift (Mon-Fri, 5:30 AM–2:00 PM) with overtime possible; you will log test data, follow procedures, and ensure compliance with specifications during testing and final inspection.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of related experience.
• Electronic Technician Certificate and/or AS Degree in Electronic Engineering.
• Legal right to work in the U.S. and access export-controlled information.
• Available to work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate standard and special test equipment.
• Calibrate, align, and perform final functional tests for each unit.
• Log production test data (work order, model, serial, status, failure).
• Diagnose and remedy defective assemblies; document defects for reproducibility.
• Troubleshoot to component level for analog and digital circuitry.
• Report increasing failure trends and initiate root-cause investigations.
• Inspect product for specification and cosmetic compliance.
