Job summary

AMETEK Programmable Power, based in San Diego, seeks a Production Technician to perform manufacturing verification, engineering validation, and functional testing on production units. The role involves diagnosing analog and digital circuitry, maintaining test records, and ensuring product meets specifications for customer shipment.

2nd shift is 2:00 PM–10:30 PM, with overtime on weekdays and weekends as needed. A strong test and debugging background in electromechanical equipment is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of related experience as a technician.
• Electronic Technician Certificate and/or AS Degree in Electronic Engineering.
• Candidates must have legal right to work in the U.S. and access export-controlled information.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate standard and specialized test equipment.
• Calibrate and perform final functional tests for each unit for shipment.
• Log production test data including model, serial, test status, and failure mode.
• Diagnose defects and perform component-level troubleshooting.
• Identify root causes and document corrective actions.
