Job summary

AMETEK Programmable Power in San Diego, CA seeks a Production Technician to conduct tests on production units, troubleshoot analog and digital circuitry, and ensure conformance to specifications. You will log test data, identify defects, and support root-cause investigations while working a 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM) with occasional overtime.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years in a related field, and an Electronic Technician Certificate or AS in Electronic Engineering.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
• Electronic Technician Certificate and/or AS Degree in Electronic Engineering.
• Legal right to work in the U.S. and access export-controlled information.
• Availability to work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate standard and specialized test equipment.
• Calibrate, align, adjust and perform final functional tests for each unit.
• Log production test data including work order, model, serial and test status.
• Diagnose defects and determine causes; document defects for reproducibility.
• Troubleshoot to component level for analog and digital circuitry.
• Report trends in failures and initiate root-cause investigations.
• Perform physical inspection to ensure specification and cosmetic compliance.
• Operate equipment safely following proper procedures.
