Job summary

Tier4 Group is seeking an experienced Application Support Engineer to join a Atlanta-based organization investing in automation and reliability. You’ll troubleshoot critical production apps, work on Windows and Linux servers, and use scripting to automate and improve the environment.

You’ll collaborate with development, infrastructure, networking, QA, and other tech teams, participate in on-call rotations, and help prevent outages through proactive analysis and improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in Application Support, Production Support, Site Reliability Engineering, or similar production-focused role.
• Strong scripting and automation experience in Python and/or PowerShell.
• Hands-on work with Windows and Linux servers.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, or observability platforms (Datadog, Splunk).
• Understanding of how applications interact with servers, databases, networks, APIs, and integrations.
• Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong analytical and root-cause troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Own and troubleshoot complex production application issues from identification to resolution.
• Work hands-on with Windows and Linux servers to diagnose issues.
• Use logs, monitoring, and observability tools to identify problems and prevent outages.
• Build and improve automation using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar.
• Use SQL to investigate application and data-related issues.
• Support integrations across applications, APIs, servers, databases, networks, and cloud infrastructure.
• Identify repetitive operational work and automate it.
