Job summary

Dover Food Retail is seeking a Supervisor, Production 3rd Shift in South Chesterfield, VA to lead team leads and hourly production staff, ensuring safety, on-time production, and quality.

You will develop standard work, drive continuous improvement, coordinate with supply chain and quality, manage inventory, and maintain timekeeping and safety compliance with flexibility for extended hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of experience in a leadership position.
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Two years’ experience with 5S, Lean/Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to interact and work effectively with employees at levels of the organization.
• Must be willing to work extended and/or weekend hours when required.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to team leaders and frontline hourly production staff; ensure a safe environment, define expectations, train associates, ensure accountability, and provide feedback.
• Develop, implement, and audit daily standard work.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement; conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain production schedule, meeting quality and productivity requirements.
• Maintain inventory control for raw materials required in the department.
• Collaborate with supply chain, quality, shipping, and other departments to meet targets.
• Address operational issues impacting customer expectations and cycle time.
• Enforce company policies and engage HR/Safety as needed.
• Build morale and manage performance of reporting associates.
• Initiate requisitions for open positions and interview candidates.
• Document associate skills to create a training needs matrix.
• Capture and analyze productivity data to understand variances.
• Direct resources to procure shipment items as production requires.
• Maintain timekeeping in ADP for direct reports.
• Ensure safety rules and procedures are followed.
• Other duties as assigned.
