Badger Meter is looking to hire a 1st Shift Production Supervisor at our Milwaukee Headquarters. We are seeking a proactive, solution-focused leader to meet both short-term and long-term production objectives.

This position is responsible for supervising hourly employees across multiple manufacturing departments, ensuring efficient and economical operations aligned with quality standards and production schedules. Main responsibilities include overseeing molding, machining, and assembly areas.

Main Job Duties:

• People management: Lead hourly shift employees in a high-volume, high-product variation, union environment to meet production goals. Conduct performance appraisals, manage attendance, recommend wage adjustments and promotions, and develop training programs.
• Production plan fulfillment: Use operational metrics and active floor presence to monitor manufacturing processes, ensuring workflow, manpower, machine utilization, and schedule adherence. Regularly audit labor and machine reporting for accuracy and efficiency.
• Safety: Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and labor contracts. Enforce safety procedures, proper equipment use, and housekeeping, and monitor hazardous conditions.
• Collaboration: Communicate daily with managers and peers about operational conditions, and provide clear goals and objectives to direct reports.
• Process Improvement: Develop and implement operational solutions using lean manufacturing principles. Investigate and resolve issues related to materials, quality, equipment, and methods promptly and effectively.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of manufacturing supervisory/management experience.
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
