Badger Meter is looking to hire a 1st Shift Production Supervisor at our Racine location. We are looking for a proactive, solution focused leader to meet both short term and long term production objectives.

This position is responsible for the direct supervision of hourly team members across multiple production departments to ensure the most efficient and economical performance of operations in accordance with quality standards and production schedules.

Main Job Duties:

• People Management
  • Lead hourly shift employees in a high variation, medium volume environment to meet both short term and long term production objectives.
  • Conduct appraisal of employee performance, attendance, and recommend wage adjustments, promotions, etc. Develop and implement training programs for new and existing employees to ensure a flexible workforce.
• Production Plan Fulfillment
  • Utilize operational metrics and an on the floor presence approach to maintain close surveillance over production operations to ensure hour by hour efficiency, daily goals, and customer on time delivery targets are met.
• Safety
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, labor contract provisions, and administers disciplinary action when necessary. Ensures the adherence to all applicable safety procedures, proper utilization of safety equipment, housekeeping methods, and is on alert for the development of hazardous conditions.
• Collaboration
  • Communicate daily with appropriate managers and peer group on overall operating conditions and make recommendations to improve procedures, methods, and techniques. Communicate regularly with direct reports to provide goals and objectives for the operations.
• Process Improvement
  • Develop and implement operational solutions utilizing lean manufacturing methods in a team environment. Able to identify, investigate, and analyze problems related to materials, quality, equipment, methods, tools, etc., and initiate corrective action to resolve such problems in a timely and efficient method.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of Manufacturing Supervisory/Management/Leadership experience required.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree desired.
