Job summary

The dfa facility is seeking a Production Shift Supervisor to direct assigned production employees and manage daily operations on the shift. You will oversee safety, quality, sanitation, and production performance while ensuring adherence to plant procedures and product specifications.

Responsibilities include reviewing shift production and manpower, assisting workers to meet targets, conducting investigations for out-of-spec results, maintaining shift paperwork, and coordinating with the Plant

Qualifications

• College degree in Management or Food Science, preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3–5 years related experience.

Responsibilities

• Review current and anticipated production at the beginning of each shift.
• Assess manpower situation to determine needs for efficient operation of shift.
• Assist production employees in manufacturing the best possible product meeting specifications.
• Conduct investigations to determine and correct causes of out-of-spec products.
• Assist shift personnel in maintaining highest possible production rate.
• Observe plant safety rules and enforce SOPs.
• Instruct employees in safe operating procedures and plant conduct.
• Identify safety hazards and take steps to control them.
• Ensure production of clean and safe food and relay information from Plant Manager to employees.
• Maintain effective communications with other supervisors.
• Maintain shift paperwork including absentee reports, bills of lading, production records and lab results.
• Oversee sanitation program and cleaning chemical levels onsite.
