• Excellent communication and time-management skills.

Fit Recruiting is seeking an experienced Production Planner/Scheduler for a well-established manufacturing and fabrication company in the Mobile area. Salary is in the $60K-$80K range depending on experience.

This is a key role responsible for coordinating production schedules, monitoring labor hours and job progress, and keeping projects moving efficiently through the shop. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working closely with production, engineering, project management, procurement, and shop leadership.

Duties:

• Develop and manage production schedules and job plans
• Create and maintain two-week production look-ahead schedules
• Assign and track daily production tasks and budgeted labor hours
• Monitor actual hours versus budget to help keep projects on track
• Track materials, expected delivery dates, job start dates, and ship dates
• Coordinate machine shop and fabrication priorities
• Identify potential production delays or roadblocks before they impact schedules
• Recommend schedule recovery plans when necessary
• Coordinate subcontracted work and outside services
• Ensure work orders and job instructions are properly created and communicated
• Provide regular production and project status reporting
• Coordinate planning meetings across Project Management, Engineering, Fabrication, and shop personnel
• Assist with process improvement and the development of better planning and workflow standards

Requirements:

• Previous experience in production planning, scheduling, manufacturing, fabrication, or a related environment
• Strong understanding of production workflow, labor planning, budgets, and project schedules
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and production plans
• Strong Excel and general computer skills
• Experience with production planning or scheduling software
• Knowledge of project controls and PERT/CPM scheduling techniques is a plus
• Familiarity with welding, fabrication, ASME materials, or pressure vessel construction is highly preferred
• Basic AutoCAD knowledge is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills
• Ability to manage changing priorities while maintaining attention to detail
