The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This individual will work closely with production, purchasing, inventory, sales, and operations teams to establish priorities, anticipate potential delays, and keep production moving efficiently. Salary is in the $60-$70K range, depending on experience, plus benefits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and adjust daily and weekly production schedules based on customer demand, inventory levels, material availability, and production capacity.
  • Coordinate with production leadership to establish priorities and ensure manufacturing schedules are achievable.
  • Monitor open orders, work orders, production progress, and delivery deadlines.
  • Identify potential scheduling conflicts, material shortages, capacity constraints, or production delays and communicate issues proactively.
  • Work closely with purchasing and inventory teams to ensure required materials and components are available for scheduled production.
  • Coordinate with sales and customer service teams regarding order priorities, lead times, and delivery expectations.
  • Review inventory levels and production requirements to help maintain appropriate stock while minimizing excess inventory.
  • Create, release, and monitor production/work orders within the company's ERP/MRP system.
  • Analyze production data, lead times, capacity, and workflow to identify opportunities for greater efficiency.
  • Adjust schedules as priorities, customer needs, or production conditions change.
  • Maintain accurate production planning and scheduling information within company systems.
  • Participate in production meetings and provide clear updates regarding schedules, priorities, delays, and upcoming requirements.
  • Build strong working relationships across production, purchasing, inventory, sales, and operations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Previous experience in production scheduling, production planning, supply chain, manufacturing operations, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment strongly preferred.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production planning software preferred.
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills.
  • Ability to understand production capacity, inventory requirements, lead times, and material availability.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond quickly when schedules or production needs change.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of urgency and follow-through.
Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys bringing organization and structure to a busy manufacturing operation. This person should be comfortable looking ahead, anticipating problems before they impact production, and communicating effectively with multiple departments. A successful Production Scheduler will be analytical enough to work with data and systems, and personable and confident enough to work closely with employees throughout the organization.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their career with an established local manufacturing company and take ownership of an important function within the operation.
