Jobot is seeking a hands-on Production Manager for a premier food manufacturer in Vernon, CA. The role focuses on leading first- and second-shift operations, spending about 80% of time on the production floor to coach supervisors, support employees, and ensure safe, efficient production.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive production management experience, including leadership within food manufacturing.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
• Stable employment history demonstrating increasing responsibility.
• Proven ability to lead from the production floor and develop supervisors/leads.
• Experience creating SOPs, improving processes, and managing production performance.
• Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, quality, labor planning, and cost control.
• Proactive, strategic problem-solving and long-term planning.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily production across first and second shifts, maintaining safety, food quality, sanitation, productivity, and cost standards.
• Maintain a strong floor presence, providing hands-on direction and support to production teams.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures that align daily operations with company expectations.
• Coach and develop leads and supervisors, establishing clear expectations and consistent accountability.
• Build teamwork, communication, and effective shift handoffs.
• Partner with Quality, Maintenance, Shipping, Procurement, HR, and other departments to address production needs.
• Anticipate staffing, equipment, material, and scheduling challenges and take action before they affect production.
• Identify and implement improvements that reduce waste, control labor costs, and improve efficiency.
• Review production results, investigate performance gaps, and follow through on corrective actions.
• Maintain compliance with USDA/FDA requirements, GMPs, and company food safety policies.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of progressive production management experience, including leadership within food manufacturing.
• Fluent in English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees across both shifts.
• A stable employment history demonstrating sustained contributions and increasing responsibility.
• Proven ability to lead from the production floor and develop effective supervisors and leads.
• Experience creating SOPs, improving processes, and managing production performance.
• Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, quality, labor planning, and cost control.
• A proactive, strategic approach to solving problems and planning for future operational needs.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build productive relationships across departments.
• Professional references required.
