Production Supervisor Job Description
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 0900hrs – 1700hrs
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the production line to ensure smooth workflow and timely output.
- Assign tasks, manage schedules, and coordinate activities among line workers and technicians.
- Lead, train, monitor, and motivate production staff while addressing performance issues.
- Monitor product quality, enforce standards, and collaborate with QA/QC teams to resolve issues.
- Recommend improvements to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and lower costs, including implementing lean manufacturing practices.
- Coordinate with planning, logistics, procurement, and warehouse teams to align production with inventory and delivery requirements.
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA or other relevant regulations.
- Monitor raw materials, tools, and equipment availability.
- Maintain records on production metrics and generate reports.
- Ensure production goals and deadlines are met.
- Maintain proper staffing levels for each shift or production run.
- Communicate effectively with engineering, maintenance, logistics, and quality teams to ensure departmental alignment.
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- +3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Experience using an ERP system.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 procedures or similar quality systems.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain detailed records.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields or equivalent experience.
- Certifications such as APICS CPIM, CSCP, ISM CPSM, PMP.
- +6 years of experience in a similar role.
- Hands-on experience with production line support and troubleshooting.
