Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead the front-line production team, oversee safety, quality, and efficiency, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced facility. The role requires coaching employees, maintaining adherence to Food Safety plans, and collaboration with operations leaders.

Responsibilities include daily safety inspections, line management, and ensuring performance targets are met while controlling costs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business or related field and 2+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
Experience acting as a lead by providing training, coaching or mentoring.
Strong communication skills (oral and written) while leading problem-solving efforts.
Ability to motivate, train, and coach employees to peak performance.
Willingness to work long hours and weekends; travel up to 5%.

Responsibilities

Safety and Compliance: daily inspections, safety audits, HACCP and USDA adherence.
Product Quality and Training: enforce Food Safety and Food Quality plans, SOPs.
Operational Efficiency: track yields, efficiencies, and variances to improve workflows.
Team Leadership and Communication: lead hourly production employees, monthly line meetings.
Continuous Improvement: analyze performance metrics and suggest efficiency improvements.
