Boston Public Schools Central Office - Food & Nutrition Services in Boston, MA is hiring a Production Cook for full-time, year-round work. The role reports to the Production Supervisor and supports large-scale meal production with emphasis on safety and quality.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, 2 years of related experience, and the ability to lift 50 lbs. Certifications in Food Safety and Allergen Awareness are required within 60 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Two years related work experience.
• CORI/SORI background check required.
• Authorization to work in the United States by start date.
• Ability to work in hot/cold environments and stand/walk for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Produce daily packaged meals for off-site consumption.
• Operate high-volume cooking and packaging equipment.
• Ensure products meet specifications and quality standards.
• Follow recipes and contribute to recipe feedback.
• Maintain proper temperature control during cooking and packaging.
• Ensure sanitation and organization of the production area.
• Complete production records accurately.
• Comply with federal, state, and local regulations and district policies.
• Participate in safety training and equipment maintenance.
