Job summary

Gloucester Public Schools System East Veterans Elementary School - Gloucester, MA is seeking a Kitchen Manager to oversee large-scale food production, plan menus, supervise kitchen staff, and ensure safety and quality. The role requires a high school diploma and Serve-Safe certification, plus 2+ years of kitchen supervisory experience.

Physical endurance is needed for daily lifting and long hours. Salary is per the Teamsters Local Union contract and includes cash handling, POS use, and deposits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, required.
• Cooking and food preparation experience, required.
• Serve-Safe Certification, required.
• Minimum of 2 years experience, preferred.
• Experience managing/supervising kitchen personnel, preferred.
• Regularly lift up to 30 pounds and frequently 40 pounds.
• Able to perform physical work with long periods of standing.
• Ability to use POS system with daily use, inventory, etc.
• Be able to reconcile daily income sheets and make bank deposits.

Responsibilities

• Performs large scale quantity cooking and plans food preparation schedules.
• Supervises and participates in cooking tasks and kitchen cleaning duties.
• Works with the Director of Food Services to oversee kitchen operations.
• Keeps records and requisitions supplies as needed.
• Completes annual continuing education/training as required.
