Base pay range

$50.00/hr - $65.00/hr

As the Sr Technical Product Owner, you will be responsible for leading product development strategies that maximize profitable growth and drive membership targets. You will own and prioritize the customer-driven team backlog, translating customer insights and market research into innovative features and actionable user stories. Leveraging a strong product mindset and Agile expertise, you’ll ensure all user stories are well-defined, testable, and aligned with customer value. This role requires proactive leadership across a matrixed organization, strategic vendor engagement, and the ability to influence competitive product delivery through customer-centric thinking and feature innovation. You will also play a key role in guiding other Product Owners and shaping long-term product roadmaps that elevate business outcomes and software quality.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5–7+ years of experience as a Product Owner or similar role in an Agile/SAFe environment
  • Strong background in agile product management, backlog ownership, and user story development
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and driving strategic product outcomes
  • Experience in a matrixed organization and ability to collaborate with business, technical, and external stakeholders
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills

Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage the product backlog; define, prioritize, and refine features and user stories
  • Develop user stories that are independent, negotiable, customer-centric, estimable, and testable
  • Act as the voice of the customer throughout the PI (Program Increment) and delivery lifecycle
  • Collaborate across departments including Finance, Marketing, Pharmacy, Network, and IT to identify and execute on high-impact stories
  • Ensure clarity and alignment in backlog prioritization and team delivery
  • Drive acceptance criteria development and coordinate data validation, sign-off, and stakeholder communication
  • Guide innovation activities, pilot new solutions, and analyze results for scale
  • Provide direction and mentorship to junior Product Owners and contribute to broader product leadership efforts
  • Engage with external vendors and represent team interests in complex partnerships
  • Support iteration planning, risk management, scope refinement, and resource estimation

Nice to have:

  • Experience in the healthcare industry, ideally within a payer or provider organization
  • Prior experience working with Cigna or similar enterprise systems
  • Familiarity with SAFe Agile Release Trains and enterprise-level agile frameworks
