Job summary

Everforth Apex Systems, a global IT services provider, seeks a Product Owner in Charlotte, NC to drive data product initiatives within the CAO Data Analytics & Insights group. Translate strategic priorities into a well-managed backlog delivering governed, trusted data capabilities.

The consultant will work with Product Managers, Data Analysts, Technology, Data Governance, Risk and Compliance, and business stakeholders to prioritize work, define acceptance criteria, and lead delivery with a focus

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Agile Product Ownership, Product Management, Scrum, Business Analysis, or Data Product Management experience.
• Experience defining and prioritizing product backlogs, user stories, features, and acceptance criteria.
• Experience with Data Product Management including data governance, data quality, metadata, lineage, reporting, analytics, and enterprise data platforms.
• Proficient with Jira and Confluence for backlog management and Agile delivery execution.
• Strong stakeholder management across business, technology, governance, risk, compliance, and delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Own and prioritize the product backlog to align with product strategy, business priorities, and stakeholder needs.
• Define and refine features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and business readiness requirements.
• Partner with Product Managers to align roadmap priorities and product vision.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily standups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and Product Owner synchronization sessions.
• Collaborate with Data Governance, Technology, Risk, Compliance, and business stakeholders to ensure policy and regulatory alignment.
• Manage dependencies across teams, products, and shared data capabilities.
• Translate data product requirements into actionable delivery work involving data sourcing, ingestion, metadata, lineage, data quality, reporting, analytics, and governance requirements.
• Review completed work and formally accept delivery based on acceptance criteria and Definition of Done.
• Support Program Increment (PI) Planning activities including dependency management, feature sequencing, capacity alignment, and objective development.
• Define, monitor, and communicate product success metrics, adoption metrics, business value outcomes, and data quality objectives.
• Facilitate stakeholder alignment and provide transparency into delivery progress, risks, priorities, and dependencies.

Job Summary:

The Agile Data Product Owner will serve as the business authority for a defined data product area within the Chief Administrative Office (CAO) Data Analytics & Insights organization. This role is responsible for translating strategic business priorities into a well-managed product backlog that delivers trusted, governed, and business-aligned data capabilities.
