Job summary

Cree LED, Inc. in Durham, NC is seeking a Product Manager to own multiple product families within the LED portfolio. You’ll drive strategy, new product introductions, MRDs/PRDs, pricing, and product lifecycle management while collaborating with engineering, R&D, operations, and sales.

The role requires a technical engineering background, strong communication, and 5+ years in product management or marketing. Hybrid work setup in Durham, NC with travel opportunities is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with sales/marketing coursework.
• 5+ years of product management or product marketing experience.
• Self-motivated with strong drive to achieve business objectives.
• Strong work ethic, sense of ownership, and a resilient can-do attitude to drive projects through completion.
• Ability to blend technical and commercial aspects to deliver a balanced approach to problems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel, including internationally as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Own product life-cycle from concept to obsolescence.
• Define and maintain product strategy, positioning and roadmap.
• Develop MRDs and PRDs for new products with prioritized features, targets, forecasts and plans.
• Interface with engineering, R&D, operations and sales for new/existing products.
• Develop and execute pricing strategy to meet revenue and margin targets.
• Collaborate with product marketing to launch products.
• Lead tactical actions to support business objectives.
• Lead customer engagement, presentations and seminars.
• Be an expert on competitors’ capabilities and positioning.
• Work with sales on pricing and product specs for opportunities.
• Review forecasts and monitor trends and align with business unit.
• Monitor product line units, distribution, ASP and revenue/margin.
• Lead customer programs with prototypes and samples.
• Contribute as product spokesperson at conferences and trade shows.
