Job summary

Cree LED, a Penguin Solutions brand, is seeking a Process Development Engineer to join the Product Engineering group in Raleigh/Durham, NC. You will support the development and transfer of LED products and processes from early development through high-volume manufacturing.

You will run engineering experiments, analyze data, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturability, yield, quality, and performance.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in a relevant engineering or physical science discipline.
• 2–5 years in process development or related field.
• Ability to collect and analyze technical data and support data-driven recommendations.
• Hands-on problem-solving skills for development or manufacturing environments.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently with guidance and escalate risks when appropriate.
• Willing to travel internationally if required.

Responsibilities

• Support development, transfer of LED products into high-volume production.
• Assist experiments, process trials, data collection, and analysis.
• Troubleshoot process, product, yield, or quality issues with hands-on investigation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to identify root causes and implement improvements.
• Support new product development from prototype through manufacturing release.
• Document experimental results and recommended next steps.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of quality, reliability, cost, and efficiency.
• Assist in development of next-generation LED components.
