Job summary

Cummins Inc. in Columbus, IN is seeking a Product Engineering Specialist to support product development and engineering for our Cummins business.

You will partner with managers, project leaders, manufacturing engineers, and supplier partners to drive data-driven recommendations and sound engineering decisions throughout the product lifecycle. You will strengthen product reliability using advanced processes, lead smaller projects, and execute established engineering practices while expanding

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or STEM is required. Post‑graduate degree may be required for select roles.
• Licensing for export controls or sanctions regulations may be required.
• Prior Senior or Lead Engineer experience with a track record of technical problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Partner with technical managers, project leaders, and suppliers to provide data-driven recommendations.
• Drive projects by applying engineering expertise to balance speed, quality, risk and business goals.
• Strengthen product reliability using engineering processes and tools (e.g., FMEA, DVP&R, FIRG, design reviews, 7‑step problem solving).
• Lead smaller projects or owners of complex components, delivering results with accountability to teams.
• Execute established engineering processes independently while expanding technical knowledge and contributing to emerging technologies.
