Job summary

Cummins Inc. in Columbus, IN, is seeking an Operations Engineering Support Specialist to join the manufacturing team. You will support maintenance, perform breakdown recovery, document root cause analyses, and communicate corrective actions to stakeholders.

The role emphasizes HSE alignment, teamwork, and continuous improvement within a shop-floor setting. Ideal candidates have strong electrical skills, experience with PLCs/HMIs, and the ability to work with limited supervision.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree with 2–4 years relevant experience or trade certificate with 6 years’ experience or 8 years relevant experience or DOL certification.
• Electrical aptitude and knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs and HMIs are required.
• Strong understanding of electrical principles and troubleshooting methods.
• Familiarity with industrial networking concepts is expected.

Responsibilities

• Breakdown Recovery - assist in recovering production equipment to operable state.
• Documentation / Root Cause analysis - collect and analyze data to describe corrective actions/improvements.
• Clear communication of corrective actions to relevant stakeholders.
