Job summary

Cummins Inc is seeking an early-career engineering professional to contribute to development, validation, and support of innovative products across the lifecycle. You will support creation through production, investigate issues, determine root causes, and lead corrective actions using structured problem-solving methodologies.

You will collaborate with product line engineers, systems engineers, and manufacturing teams to drive informed decisions, participate in design reviews, and apply systems

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• Early-career engineering professional with internship or project experience in manufacturing or product-focused environments.
• Postgraduate or Master's degree advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support development and delivery of products across their lifecycle from concept to production and support.
• Investigate product issues, identify root causes, and lead problem resolution activities using structured methodologies.
• Execute engineering processes to support PPT, VPI, and CPS initiatives.
• Collaborate with product line engineers, systems engineers, and manufacturing teams to drive engineering decisions.
• Contribute to product verification and validation activities, including analysis, testing, and interpretation of results.
• Support configuration and change management with accurate engineering data and documentation.
• Participate in design reviews and cross-functional integration to meet customer, business, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Apply systems thinking to improve product performance, reliability, manufacturability, and customer satisfaction.
