Job summary

ATI Specialty Materials seeks a Product Engineering Intern in Monroe, NC for a 10-week summer program. Rising juniors/seniors in Materials Science or Metallurgical/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering will apply concepts to optimize alloy processing and manufacture-ready designs.

You will gain hands-on experience in materials processing, metallurgical concepts, and real-world manufacturing environments while supporting process standardization and product development initiatives.

Qualifications

• Rising Junior or Senior pursuing a B.S. in Materials Science & Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
• GPA of 3.0 or higher (preferred)
• Interest in product development, metallurgy, or high-performance alloy applications
• Familiarity with Excel, data analysis tools, or metallurgical lab techniques

Responsibilities

• Optimizing Boeing shapes processing parameters to support process performance and consistency
• Standardizing reheat points for nickel shapes and rectangles
• Supporting process improvement activities related to materials processing and metallurgy
• Applying materials science and metallurgical concepts to hands-on manufacturing projects
• Experience working with nickel shapes and rectangles and related manufacturing processes
