Job summary

ATI Specialty Materials is offering a 10-week Mechanical Design Engineer Internship in Monroe, NC for Summer 2027. You will support equipment design, automation, reverse engineering, and process improvements using CAD tools and engineering know-how.

The role targets undergrad/graduate students in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related programs with a passion for manufacturing and hands-on problem solving in a plant setting.

Qualifications

• Pursuing undergraduate or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical, Aerospace, or related programs.
• Fundamental knowledge of CAD and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Support projects to improve or automate manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Apply CAD skills to equipment design and engineering activities.
• Assist with safety improvements and process optimization in Monroe operations.
• Collaborate with Operations and Engineering teams to identify problems and develop practical solutions.
• Use engineering principles to support equipment improvements, modifications, and design projects.
• Provide general Monroe Operations project support as needed.
