Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Group in Carrollton, Texas, seeks a Product Engineer to design, develop, test, and support new and existing products and assemblies. You will drive prototypes from concept to manufacture, lead cross-functional projects, and create layouts and BOMs for release.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering with 5–7 years of hands-on design experience in manufacturing, plus CAD/FEA/DFMEA proficiency and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's preferred.
• 5–7 years of engineering experience in product design/manufacturing environments.
• Experience with CAD tools, GD&T, FEA, and DFMEA.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from start to finish, coordinating with cross-functional teams.
• Design and develop products or components; prepare layouts and schematics; plan test programs.
• Direct prototype fabrication and testing; analyze data to verify design meets specs.
• Lead engineering changes (ECNs) and publish bulletins to customers/suppliers.
• Create BOMs and update documentation using CAD/ERP systems; coordinate with suppliers.
• Provide field support and QA for new products; investigate returns and supplier issues.
• Assist customer service with aftermarket repair products; support cost-reduction efforts.
• Contribute to Kaizen and VAVE events to optimize processes.
