Job summary

EQI Ltd. in Michigan seeks a Product Engineer to ensure accurate technical requirements for quoting and to source, develop, and qualify conforming products to customer specs.

This cradle-to-grave engineering position encompasses manufacturing engineering, design, quality, and metallurgical disciplines, reporting to the VP of Engineering and supporting EQI’s global teams. The role requires ownership of product conformance through the development lifecycle, review of material specs, GD&T, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Materials Science from a four-year accredited college or university.
• 7+ years of relevant work experience.
• Knowledge of metal castings processes and materials (e.g., resin sand, green sand, vacuum sand, investment, die casting; gray iron, steel, ductile iron, aluminum).
• Proficient in print reading and interpretation for quoting, part design, and inspection.
• Demonstrated knowledge of GD&T and gauge design and function.
• Knowledge of AIAG standards (PFD, FMEA, Control Plans, APQP).
• Ability to investigate quality problems and apply technical judgment to develop solutions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure product conformance during the development lifecycle from RFQ review to qualification and approval.
• Provide technical input during customer design reviews and RFQ packages (material specs, GD&T, manufacturability).
• Lead change management and maintain product data integrity through ECN/PCR processes.
• Interact with customers to clarify requirements and verify compliance during RFQ, development, and PPAP.
• Support PPAP submissions and liaise with supply chain to resolve discrepancies.
