Job summary

Shape-Corp-1 in Michigan is seeking an engineer to lead new product development and design verification for engineering changes to current production products. You will act as Shape’s engineering representative on Customer vehicle teams and coordinate with suppliers and internal teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
Minimum five years in a product development role in Automotive or Aerospace.
Metals product development experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with DFMEA and customer PPAPs.
Vehicle packaging experience.
Strong written and verbal communication with customers.

Responsibilities

Meet PDE I job description requirements.
Apply fundamentals of mechanical theory, material properties, test protocols, and basic manufacturing processes to daily projects.
Develop component and system level designs utilizing engineering applications per customer requirements.
Interpret and communicate customer inputs and Shape outputs to customers.
Maintain effective communication with internal and external customers to meet development timelines.
Additional functions as directed by the leader.
