Job summary

Steel Partners is seeking a Product Engineer II to act as a technical expert in both electrical and mechanical design. The role starts with defining electrical parameters, translating them into magnetic design, and deriving mechanical requirements for the product.

The incumbent will communicate technical requirements across the organization, ensure agency compliance, and support ECOs and NPI initiatives while contributing to R&D activities and cost-reduction efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• 3 to 5 years relevant experience.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts effectively.
• High level of knowledge on all products and industry related products.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for the manufacturing team.
• Provide engineering support on change requests (ECOs).
• Provide engineering support on new product introduction (NPI).
• Participate in limited R&D activities.
• Provide engineering support in cost reduction efforts.
• Meets assigned deadlines per project managers.
• Communicate product quality aspects to manufacturing.
• Support in risk management and mitigation of project risks.
• Technical owner of electrical aspects of projects.
