Job summary

Amphenol CIT in Saint Augustine, FL is seeking a Product Design Engineer to collaborate across Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and Supply Chain to design cost-effective wire and cable products for manufacturability.

At level II, you will lead new product development projects, serve as a primary technical liaison, and mentor design engineers while driving continuous improvement and productivity initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical preferred) or 5+ years in wire/cable engineering.
• Proficiency with mathematical concepts, probability, and statistics.
• 3+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably in wire & cable.
• Formal problem-solving and project management experience.
• Familiarity with BI tools like Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Interpret customer specifications and industry standards to develop manufacturable, cost-effective designs.
• Lead new product development projects and act as primary technical liaison.
• Prepare design and cost estimates to maximize profitability.
• Mentor and coach other design engineers and technicians.
• Develop, document, and maintain product BOMs, routings, and test plans for cable manufacture.
