Job description

Define and implement product architecture for scalability, performance, and reliability
Design and implement novel tools, development strategies, and testing strategies
Maintain enterprise- and program-level architecture knowledge
Liaise with business analysts to develop feasible, compliant solutions
Lead technical aspects of Agile ceremonies and platform demonstrations
Collaborate with SecDevOps and onboard applications to cloud infrastructure
Evangelize solutions and help teams break stories into tasks
Mentor developers and testers and provide technical guidance through coaching and peer reviews
Design solutions in a multi-tenant cloud architecture
Identify risks, opportunities, compliance issues, and architectural concerns
Participate in Agile ceremonies, artifact creation, sprint and regression testing, demonstrations, retrospectives, and releases
Review Cybersecurity Assessments and Static Code Analysis to define remediation and improve software quality
Develop and maintain architecture diagrams, design documents, and other technical documentation
Map high-level business requirements to developer and tester tasks
Design technical solutions using established standards and break them into units of work
Work with business analysts to ensure requirements coverage
Create a phased roadmap to production, including legacy system decommissioning
Oversee project construction, review pull requests, ensure test coverage, maintain code quality, remove blockers, and present the product to stakeholders
Design, develop, and integrate systems and applications
Migrate legacy applications to cloud-deployed microservices architectures
Anticipate issues and formulate remedial actions
Collaborate with Developers, Program Managers, Testers, UI/UX, and Production Support Engineers on iterative technical solutions

Requirements

Must live within the DC, MD, VA area
U.S. Citizenship is required
Active CBP Public Trust clearance required
10+ years' overall experience in software development
Hands-on experience with programming, software design patterns, and architecture as a software architect, tech lead, or senior developer
Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
Expertise in Typescript, Postgres SQL, Postgres Streams, Gemini AI, webRTC, and Geospatial software, with design and hands-on experience
Expertise in design patterns, object-oriented programming (OOP), and software design methodologies
Experience operating within cross-functional teams and groups
Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or DevOps processes
Expertise in client-server, microservices, event-driven, or layered architectures
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud
Understanding of distributed system concepts, including scalability, fault tolerance, and data consistency
Experience with RESTful APIs and secure API design, implementation, and integration
Experience with relational databases, data modeling, and data storage best practices
Skills in software performance analysis and optimization
Experience in baseline management, merges, and version control
Understanding of software security vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies
Hands-on development with Amazon AWS, Java, Spring/Spring Boot, React, PostgreSQL, JavaScript, HTML, HTTP, CSS, and Kendo UI
Experience with DevOps practices and tools such as Harness, Jenkins, and GitLab
Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes
Able to work a hybrid schedule with an on-site requirement of 1-2 days a week in Ashburn, VA
Preferred: technical lead experience for one or more product teams
Optional certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect
