Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior software engineering leader in the United States to set standards, own architecture, and partner with product management to align roadmaps for robust FinTech solutions.

You will mentor teams, design end-to-end systems, and drive cloud, CI/CD, and automated testing, while communicating strategy across all company levels and with customers.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
15+ years designing and developing complex software projects.
8+ years in FinTech domain experience.
1–2 years cloud app solutions using containerization, CI/CD, testing, security.
Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver technical solutions.
Strong communication and public speaking to all company levels.
Knowledge of SDLC, Agile, Scrum, LEAN, DevOps practices.
Proven end-to-end system design as a full-stack developer.
Hands-on with Java RESTful services, J2EE, Tomcat, JUnit.
Experience with microservices and Spring Boot/Core.
Experience with Kafka, Tibco/JMS, Oracle PL/SQL.
JavaScript, JQuery, AngularJS experience; test automation knowledge.
CI/CD pipelines with Git, Maven, Jenkins or similar tools.
Cloud foundations across AWS/GCP/Azure; code repositories and issue trackers.
Background check/drug screen; able to work in United States.

Responsibilities

Job description

Set technical standards and ensure quality of outputs across multiple teams
Partner with product management to craft product strategy, create product descriptions, and align technology roadmaps
Serve as a senior technical expert on software engineering issues, industry trends, and developing technologies
Coach and mentor team members
Own technical product design and architecture
Create and conduct presentations for small-to-medium-sized groups
Work with customers to understand their needs and improve Early Warning products
Partner with software engineering, product, and architecture teams to shape engineering approaches and share knowledge
Develop, scope, and shape a department-wide technical vision
Design and engineer product/application service solutions aligned with technology strategy, including cloud, containerization, CI/CD, and automated testing
Build cross-functional relationships to influence change management
Support risk management and protect the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data
Perform other assigned duties as directed by the supervisor

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field, or equivalent experience typically obtained through this education and/or experience
15 or more years of experience designing and developing complex software projects
At least 8 or more years of experience in the FinTech domain
1–2 years of experience implementing cloud application solutions/services using containerization, CI/CD, automated testing, and security guidelines
Experience leading cross-functional teams to create technical solutions
Effective communication and exceptional public speaking skills; comfortable presenting to all company levels
Knowledge of SDLC best practices, Agile, Scrum, LEAN, software development methodologies, and DevOps practices
Proven experience designing and building complex end-to-end systems as a full-stack developer
Hands‑on experience with Java RESTful Web Services, Java, J2EE, JUnit, and Tomcat
Experience with microservices architecture
Experience with Spring Boot and Spring Core
Experience with messaging frameworks such as Kafka, Tibco EMS, or JMS
Experience with Oracle PL/SQL
Experience with JavaScript and scripting frameworks such as JQuery and AngularJS
Hands‑on experience in test automation across unit, component, integration, and functional testing
Proven experience in OOA/OOD
Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using GIT, Chef, Maven, Jenkins, or similar tools
Solid understanding of AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure
Experience with code repositories such as Git or SVN, bug tracking tools such as Jira or Bugzilla, and Wikis such as Confluence
Background and drug screen
Ability to work in the United States for any employer at the date of hire
Preferred: M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science or another technical field
Preferred: Knowledge of Splunk, Altiris, Zabbix, ACH/EFT, RTP, or FedNow
Preferred: Hands‑on AWS experience
Preferred: Database design and architecture experience
Preferred: Terraform or other cloud orchestration technologies
Preferred: Monitoring and alerting systems such as AppDynamics
