Responsibilities

• Engage peers to provide the best possible shopping experience for customers, including checkout.
• Communicate with team members and assign daily tasks.
• Mentor and coach team members to exceed customer service and sales goals.
• Support training of new team members and cross-training of talent.
• Collaborate with leadership on department scheduling to improve engagement and store performance.
• Ensure product freshness through proper rotation and dating policies.
• Guide the team in food safety standards and safe working practices.
• Lead ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, and product display where applicable.
• Foster Meijer culture, including diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Operate a register and handle cash when needed.
• Operate powered equipment where applicable.
• Participate in period end inventories to help achieve goals.
• May act in Lead capacity in other departments as required.
