Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Buyer to manage the end-to-end purchasing process, including requisition approval, order placement, follow-up, and invoice matching. The role supports on-campus and off-campus departments, delivering reliable product delivery and responsive customer service.

The successful candidate will work with suppliers on order follow-up, price agreements, and process improvements within the Procurement Operations and broader Supply Chain teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years of purchasing experience.
• Strong writing and oral communication skills.
• Strong customer focus with a sense of urgency and high level of accountability.

Responsibilities

• Ensures uninterrupted supply of materials and services across all locations.
• Locates sources of supply when contracted sources cannot meet demands.
• Cooperates with internal and external customers to ensure efficient operations.
• Initiates follow-up on orders to clarify, change or resolve discrepancies.
• Conducts business in a timely, professional, and ethical manner.
• Identifies opportunities to automate processes with procurement technologies.
• Works with Strategic Sourcing and Data teams to maintain clear buying records and report inconsistencies.
