Job summary

Indiana University’s Department of Biology in Bloomington is seeking an Intermediate-level procurement coordinator to support purchasing, invoicing, and vendor communications across IU systems.

Under moderate supervision you will manage Buy.IU requests, process Emburse expenses, monitor inventories, prepare reports, and collaborate with the Biology purchasing team. Requires detail orientation and strong communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years in a relevant field.
• Purchasing experience preferred.
• Experience with IU systems and policies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under moderate supervision, processes purchase requests in IU's Buy.IU procurement system.
• Places online orders and processes expense reports in Emburse as needed.
• Reviews invoices for accuracy and generates receipts.
• Answers questions related to purchases, policies, and processes for departments.
• Communicates with suppliers and internal customers regarding purchases.
• Oversees inventory and coordinates reorder, receipts, and returns.
• Collaborates with the Biology purchasing team to support workload.
• Monitors procurement processes and notifies supervisor of issues.
• Prepares reports to monitor outstanding procurement documents and payments.
