Job summary

Illinois Bone and Joint Institute (IBJI) is seeking a Buyer to manage purchasing for all IBJI sites. The role covers pricing contracts, adding new items, vendor substitutions, and resolving invoice issues to ensure timely payments. Candidates need 2–3 years in purchasing and strong software skills.

Base salary ranges between $60,000 and $75,000 yearly, depending on location and experience. The position supports multiple sites, with benefits including health, dental, vision, and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years experience in a Purchasing environment.
• Experience with computer software (spreadsheets, database, graphics, word-processing).
• Excellent communication and customer relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Issues purchase orders for needed supplies.
• Review vendor stock-outs, expedites the purchase of additional supplies from alternative vendors.
• Identifies possible substitute items.
• Identifies items to be changed, added, or deleted from inventory.
• Processes department requests to add, delete and change items.
• Maintains database in computerized inventory control system and reflects current items in use.
• Work with shipping companies to resolve missed shipments.
• Communicate and discuss issues with other departments in a timely manner.
• Ensure all products received are correct and on time to meet operational needs.
• Assist with the addition of new products, evaluate usage, set up vendors and contract pricing.
