Job details

Remote, Base + Bonus, CPG, DTC

Salary: $80,000 - $105,000 per year

Our client is a fast-growing CPG company in the functional health and wellness space, with a rapidly expanding presence across DTC and retail channels. As the business scales, they are looking for a Procurement Manager to own the sourcing and purchasing of raw materials and functional ingredients that support their growing product portfolio.

This is a highly hands-on role for someone who understands ingredient sourcing, supplier management, cost negotiations, forecasting, and CPG supply chains. The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment and will play a key role in building a scalable procurement function as the company continues to grow.

Why join us
  • Join a rapidly growing functional health and wellness CPG company at an exciting stage of expansion.
  • Have significant ownership over the company's ingredient sourcing and procurement strategy.
  • Opportunity to build and scale procurement processes rather than simply maintain an existing function.
  • Work cross-functionally with Product, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain leadership.
  • Directly impact gross margin, supplier strategy, product availability, and overall business growth.
  • Help support the company's continued expansion across DTC and retail.
Key Responsibilities
  • Own the end-to-end procurement and sourcing of raw materials, functional ingredients, and packaging components across the company's product portfolio.
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop relationships with domestic and international ingredient suppliers, manufacturers, and strategic vendors.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, MOQs, lead times, contracts, and supply agreements to optimize cost and ensure reliable supply.
  • Partner closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Product Development, and Sales to align purchasing decisions with demand forecasts and business growth.
  • Monitor commodity and ingredient pricing, supplier capacity, lead times, and market conditions to identify cost-saving and risk-mitigation opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a qualified supplier base while identifying alternate and backup sources for critical ingredients.
  • Manage purchase orders and ensure materials are ordered, delivered, and available in alignment with production requirements.
  • Work closely with contract manufacturers and suppliers to resolve quality, availability, delivery, and fulfillment issues.
  • Support new product development by sourcing ingredients and materials, obtaining quotes and samples, and evaluating supplier capabilities.
  • Establish procurement processes, systems, and reporting that can scale with the company's continued growth across DTC and retail.
  • Analyze purchasing data and develop reporting around spend, pricing, supplier performance, lead times, and cost savings.
  • Collaborate with Quality/Regulatory teams to ensure suppliers meet applicable quality, food safety, documentation, and compliance requirements.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve gross margins through strategic sourcing, supplier consolidation, volume leverage, and cost negotiations.
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, purchasing, or supply chain within CPG, food & beverage, supplements, functional nutrition, wellness, or a related industry.
  • Experience sourcing raw materials, functional ingredients, nutraceutical ingredients, or other specialty ingredients.
  • Strong understanding of supplier negotiations, pricing, MOQs, lead times, contracts, and vendor management.
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers, co-packers, 3PLs, and ingredient suppliers.
  • Strong analytical and financial skills with the ability to evaluate supplier pricing, landed costs, and overall product economics.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with Product Development, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Strong communication and relationship-management skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple suppliers, SKUs, projects, and competing priorities.
  • Experience in a high-growth CPG or startup environment is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field preferred.
