Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking a Purchasing Agent in Tysons, VA to support growing programs. You will liaise between procurement and internal teams, manage procurement planning for high-visibility projects, and analyze market conditions to optimize value.

You will negotiate contracts with vendors, coordinate post-award plan implementations, and ensure alignment with project schedules, drawing on strong communication and negotiation skills throughout your engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
• Relevant Purchasing experience sourcing, negotiating contracts with OEMs, construction/subcontractors and fabricators.
• Proven written and verbal communication abilities
• Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint and Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Procurement planning during the bidding phase, including understanding contract specs and bills of material.
• Post-award procurement planning and implementation on major projects and programs.
• Understanding market conditions: pricing trends, lead times, logistics, and best value opportunities.
• Reading, understanding, and interpreting contract documents, drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
• Traveling to project sites, manufacturers, and vendors as needed.
