Job summary

The City of New York’s DYCD invites qualified candidates for the role of Associate Contract Specialist in New York, NY. You will support procurements across services, goods, and construction and manage the evaluation process, ensuring compliance with funding rules and timely contract registrations.

Responsibilities include drafting specifications, coordinating with DYCD units, maintaining procurement data, and leading evaluators’ trainings to uphold procurement integrity and efficiency.

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of full-time satisfactory professional, technical or administrative experience in one or more of the following fields: program evaluation, contract negotiations/management, fiscal/financial management, or project management; or
• A four year high school diploma, or its educational equivalent, and six years of full-time, satisfactory professional, technical or administrative work experience in one or more of the fields cited above; or
• Education and/or experience equivalent to the above. College credits may substitute for experience as described.

Responsibilities

• Processing procurements for services, goods and construction using appropriate procurement methods and ensuring compliance with funding stream rules.
• Overseeing the evaluation process for procurements, including committee meetings and evaluator trainings.
• Drafting solicitation specifications in a clear and concise manner.
• Consulting with DYCD units to ensure correct goods and/or services are procured.
• Maintain and update procurement status reports and databases.
• Processing contracts to registration in a timely manner including responsibility determination.
