Job summary

Applied Materials in Boise, ID seeks a Process Support Engineer (PSE) to guide semiconductor equipment through concept to qualification, providing on-site installation, diagnostics and repair.

You will work with customers and R&D to develop advanced processes, analyze data, perform root cause analyses, and apply DOE to optimize tool performance across CVD, ALD, plasma etch, PVD, anneal, and implant.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in Semiconductor Capital Equipment or similar high-tech industry.
• Preferred 3+ years in Applications or Process Engineering.
• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM field.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between the customer and the Business Unit for assigned projects, ensuring clear understanding of customer issues and delivery of applicable solutions.
• When necessary, works closely with customer to optimize tool performance to meet customer process and integration requirements.
• Checks and approves operational quality of system equipment; instructs customers in system operation and maintenance.
• Provides highly visible customer support through on-site installation, diagnostics, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment.
• Knowledge of 3 or more processes on 1 or more technologies.
