Job summary

Applied Materials in Boise, Idaho is seeking a Process Support Engineer (PSE) to guide processes from concept through qualification. You will provide high‑visibility customer support during on‑site installations, system diagnoses, and service/repair of complex equipment while coordinating with customers and R&D teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field.
• 3–5+ years of experience in semiconductor process engineering, equipment qualification, or ramp execution.
• Experience with process qualification frameworks and statistical matching methodologies.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams in a customer-facing environment.

Responsibilities

• Own coordination of site-level qualification and ramp workflow with schedule development.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including field service, process engineering, manufacturing, and customer stakeholders.
• Lead ramp readiness and pre-flight activities for tool startup and qualification.
• Manage data collection, analysis, and configuration alignment.
• Maintain documentation including startup reports and tracking of special requests.
• Provide accurate reporting in enterprise systems to show ramp progress and resource alignment.
• Identify risks to schedule, yield, or performance and drive mitigation plans.
• Serve as first point of contact for site-level escalations across engineering, service, and customer teams.
• Support transition to customer qualification and high-volume manufacturing sustaining activities.
• Contribute to post-mortem reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
